TRURO — As of Tuesday, all five farms in Truro and Wellfleet that intend to sell marijuana wholesale as a cooperative have signed a host community agreement with their respective towns.
Now the farmers are intent on the rest of their substantial to-do list, with the primary goal being to file a completed license application with the state Cannabis Control Commission.
“The whole thing is just onerous, and understandably so,” Truro farmer and cooperative spokeswoman Stephanie Rein said of their efforts, which began in 2017. “There’s a reason why it’s highly regulated and we appreciate that. It’s far more work than any of us anticipated.”
